ME TO WE  is hosting a BAKE SALE  on Thursday, February 11th to raise money for this year’s global initiative,  Daystar School in Uganda.  For the past three years Woodland Park has supported Daystar School. This school services the families who live in Masese, a slum community 400 metres from the school’s doorstep. The children who attend Daystar are among some of the neediest children in Africa. Life in Masese is hard. Extreme poverty, horrid sanitation, unemployment, abuse, alcoholism, and rampant crime permeate the community.  Ordering details can be found at on School-Day at https://www.school-day.com/pg/product/view/686842.  Orders are due Sunday night by midnight.  Please help support this cause by purchasing a dozen baked goods.  Or double your support by baking and buying!

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26th is a professional development day for staff therefore there is no school for students.

 Kindergarten Registration          CONVENIENT NEW PROCEDURE

If you have a child that was born in 2012 and will be entering JK in September, or was born in 2011 and has never attended school before, ONLINE registration is now available on either our school website (wpk.wrdsb.ca) or the Board website (wrdsb.ca.).  Click the “Register for Kindergarten” link, and on the following page click registration process.

Once you have completed the online registration, you will be required to come into the school with your child’s documentation (birth certificate, passport, baptismal certificate, immigration papers or birth registration and proof of address) during the week of February 8th – 12th.  We are not scheduling appointments for this; you simply come into the office any time between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. that week where you will complete one additional form.  The registration form is also available online for you to download and print if you prefer, or you can pick one up from the office.  If your child currently attends Woodland Park for JK, there is no need to register for SK, as this happens automatically at the school level.

Please share this information with your friends and neighbours in our school community.
