Here’s what’s happening at Woodland Park:
Family Math Carnival – Woodland Park staff, with the support of School Council, is planning a Family Math Carnival for the evening of Tuesday, May 3rd at 6:30 p.m. The aim is to bring students and their families together to work on a variety of fun, math-focused activities. As refreshments are provided, we require an estimate of the number of people attending. If you would like to attend, please either call us (519-654-9402) or reply to this email and state your last name, the number of children attending and the number of adults attending. We hope to see you there!
New Orleans Pizza School Fundraising Nights – Craving a delicious New Orleans pizza??? Wait just a few more days. May 2, 3 and 4 are New Orleans Pizza’s school fundraising nights. Just mention our school name when you call to order your pizza (from 4:00 p.m. until close) and the school will receive $5.00 for every $10 or more you spend on these three nights. This is applicable to phone-in or walk-in orders only, not online orders. Their phone number is 519-658-2400.
Calling all volunteers – Please join us on Thursday, May 18th at 8:00 a.m. for our Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast provided by the Woodland Park staff. Whether you’re a regular around the school or have been in just once or twice (or attended a field trip), everyone is welcome. Child care is provided. Please either call us at 519-654-9402 or email wpk@wrdsb.on.ca to let us know if you can attend. If you require child care please state that in your message.
EQAO testing is scheduled from May 25th to June 8th. Specifically, students in grade 3 will complete their testing on May 25th, 26th and 27th and grade 6 testing will be done on May 30, 31 and June 1. The remainder of the dates will be used as make up days, if required. Parents of students in grades 3 and 6 are asked to please refrain from making appointments for their children, or scheduling vacations, during this timeframe. More information will be sent home in the coming weeks.
