Well, Woodland Park families, we made it. It’s the last day of school in what has been the most disrupted school year in recent memory. I cannot thank you enough for taking on the challenges of this school year and working as a team with our Woodland Park staff. The commitment of our students and their families to distance learning has been incredible to see.

While we are not clear at this point what the next school year will bring, one thing’s for certain – we will continue to work together to support the wellbeing and learning of our students. And what amazing students they are – Woodland Park Bears, you have been resilient through all of this and I couldn’t be more proud of you.

Our school office will be closed for July and the beginning of August, but I will be checking our school email account periodically, so please feel free to reach out if you have a question or concern (wpk@wrdsb.ca). There are more questions than answers at this point about what lies ahead for the next school year, but I will communicate information with you as I have it. You could also keep an eye on the Board website (www.wrdsb.ca) for information as it becomes available.

To our graduating students, the Class of 2020, a big congratulations from your Woodland Park family. We know that your grade 8 year hasn’t been what you were hoping for and we are amazed at how you’ve handled this. You are strong, caring, brilliant young people. We know you will go on to do great things.

And to all of our Woodland Park family, we wish you a safe, happy and relaxing summer break. You’ve earned it.

Please take a moment to watch this End of the Year Staff Video. Thank you to Mrs. Skinkle for putting it together.

Looking forward to being back together with you soon,

Jenni Guy
