Here are our updates for this week:
On Friday November 21, 2014, Woodland Park was the “School of the Day”, featured on the Waterloo Region DSB website!
“School of the Day” is an effort to highlight schools in the Waterloo Region, in order to share, engage and celebrate student and school successes with the community. Every day is a new day of great news across Waterloo Region!
Woodland Park was pleased to have Ms. Riegle, one of our own, share her story at the Bears Quest assembly last week. Please click on the following link to learn more about Woodland Park’s global impact. We are so proud!

Our Kodaly Choir is performing at the Cambridge Music & Lights Festival on Friday, November 28th on Queen Street in Hespeler and our grade 7/8 choir will be singing at Pink in the Rink at the Preston Auditorium at 7:00 pm. Please come out to support our choir!
Our Holiday Concert will be held on Thursday, December 11th. Admission is a non-perishable food item for the Cambridge Food Bank. The Food Bank is in desperate need of kid-friendly foods that are easy to pack in school lunches. Items such as peanut free granola bars, bear paws, tuna, crackers, goldfish, Arrowroot cookies, cheese whiz, canned fruit, applesauce, drink boxes, fruit roll ups (or the chewy fruit snacks – penguins), cheese and crackers. Our kindergarten students will perform at 6:00 pm and the grade 1-8 choir performances will begin at 7:00 pm.
For our grade 8s: The grade 9 course selection and year-end camp trip information meeting will be held on Thursday, January 8th and the grade 8 to 9 transition meeting for parents and students (which covers course selection process, in-school student supports, extra-curricular activities) is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th at 7:00 pm at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School.
Lost and found items will be on display from December 8th – 12th. Any items not claimed by the 12th will be donated to a local charity. Please take a moment to have a look.
We are still collecting for our Wish Tree Angels campaign. All items donated will be forwarded to the Salvation Army for distribution. Donations are due by Monday, December 8th.
School Council News – We are planning a fun night out at the Cambridge Winterhawk’s hockey game on Saturday, January 10th. Tickets are only $6.00 each!! Please mark this date on your calendar. Ticket ordering details will be available soon.
Our next School Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16th at 6:30 pm. Please join us!
