“Home of the Bears”

Woodland Park Public School was built in 1990 in the northeast section of Cambridge. This school belongs to our community and we want every member of our community to feel welcome, valued and supported at Woodland Park.

Woodland Park is home of the “Bears” and our wellbeing initiative is called Bear’s Quest.  The Bear’s Quest initiative provides a focus for each month (e.g. Start Strong, Inclusivity, Gratitude).  Monthly assemblies bring our school community together to celebrate our successes and develop a shared understanding of our theme for the month.  Activities in each classroom link to the monthly theme and provide age appropriate activities to further consolidate students’ learning.

Students

When we opened in September 1990, our school’s population was 350; currently, we have 420 students in attendance from JK to grade 8. Our neighbouring school, Hillcrest Public School, feeds into Woodland Park for grades 7 and 8, and our graduates go on to attend Jacob Hespeler Secondary School.

Staff

Our staff consists of over 50 people encompassing dedicated teachers, educational assistants, support staff, custodial staff and administration who respect students and make Woodland Park a welcoming place for all.

All staff members are involved in continuous learning on many different levels. They embrace the collaborative learning environment concept and are passionate about learning from each other and with each other.
